We know that many people don’t enjoy fundraising and we feel your pain! But this is the quickest and most efficient way to raise a large sum of money for our school. The Parents Club has a commitment to raise $125,000 this year. This amount is raised from the Jog-A-Thon, Scrip and the Auction. If the Parents Club fulfills their commitment, it keeps our tuition affordable. Our tuition is one of the lowest in the Portland Archdiocese at $3,720, plus a multiple child discount, which some of the other schools do not have. Parent commitment to fundraise can make a difference.
The Jog-A-Thon was a great success last year and we hope to have the same this year! We want to keep the children involved and excited about raising money for our school. We have exciting prizes as well as trophies for the children who run the most laps! Prizes include an I-Pod Touch and gift cards. If you are interested in helping with the gift cards, you can buy Scrip and donate it to the Jog-A-Thon. The best scrip to buy would be Baskin and Robbins ($2.00) or Burger King ($5.00)! Our Jog-A-Thon kick-off assembly will be Friday, September 23, 2010. We will explain to the students how to go about getting their pledges and get them excited about this year’s event! You are welcome to join us -- we hope to get you excited too!
We understand that the Jog-A-Thon takes some effort on your part.
- If you have your child spend one hour on the phone to family and friends, or walking to the neighbor’s house, and you could be up to $150.00 in no time!
- If each family raises their minimum requirement of $150.00, this will bring in about $25,000.
It really isn’t that hard if we all put in a little effort!
The Jog-A-Thon will be Friday, October 7th at 1:00pm and will last one hour.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to:
Count money (at school during school hours), separate t-shirts, pin on lap cards,
help with set up, help during the Jog-A-Thon and with clean up!
It is a great day to earn lots of Fair Share hours and fun also! We will be looking for people to head up the committees for each of these items during Back to School Night. If you feel like you want to get involved before that, please call us! We have some things that can be done ahead of time and you can earn Fair Share hours for that too!
We are also looking for sponsors for the t-shirts that the students will wear the day of the Jog-A-Thon. Your company can help sponsor the t-shirts by donating $150 and your name will be printed on the t-shirts for everyone to see! This is tax deductible and a great way for you to advertise your company. Our children are still wearing their t-shirts from the years past!
